Job summary

Altus Emergency is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The role focuses on patient care, lab testing, and managing supplies and equipment to ensure efficient department operation.

The ER Tech assists RNs with education, observes tests, performs phlebotomy, monitors patients, and helps with lab procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and professional interactions with staff and patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years' experience in an Emergency Room setting or 1-3 years' experience as an Emergency Medical Technician EMT-P (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Document vital signs and perform phlebotomy and IV starts.
• Perform EKGs and transport patients.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
• Maintain clean patient care areas, storage rooms and equipment.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and QC lab testing.
• Greet patients on arrival and check them in professionally.
