Job summary

The Emergency Department in Abilene, TX is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The role focuses on patient care, specimen handling, and equipment management to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, POCT, wound care, documentation, and assisting with education and observation of tests by clinical staff. Strong teamwork with nursing and medical staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years' experience in an Emergency Room setting or 1-3 years' experience as an Emergency Medical Technician EMT-P (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs and physicians with technical patient care: document vitals, phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, transport patients, monitor patients.
• Perform urine drug screens and/or breathalyzer tests after training.
• Assist with physical exams and procedures.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in patient care areas and labs.
• Perform daily opening/closing duties and greet patients on arrival.
