The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX seeks an Emergency Department support professional to provide intermediate technical assistance and patient care across assigned areas. You will assist with vital signs, specimen collection, and routine tasks in a fast-paced ED setting.

• Completion of EMT program or enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing with first semester including clinical concepts.
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at the date of hire.
• Recognized military training as a US Army medic, US Navy Corpsman, US Air Force Medic, or US Coast Guard Corpsman.
• Completion of ER Tech CBO Tool within 6 months of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Collects, reports and documents vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Performs Point of Care Testing and reports results.
• Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse or designee.
• Provides for patient hygiene, mobility, feeding, and comfort.
• Assists with admission, transfer, discharge, and coordination with the healthcare team.
