Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to ensure oxygen tanks are full, stock rooms with supplies, and transport patients as needed. You will assist RNs and physicians with assessments and treatments while supporting clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements include EMT/CNA/MA, BLS, and hospital certifications, with CPI within 90 days. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are necessary for this role in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications

• EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant (Required).
• BLS (Issued by American Heart Association – Required).
• Basic dysrhythmia certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Current Phlebotomy certification – State of California preferred.
• CPI Certification obtained within first 90 days of employment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Telephone, typing, and filing skills.
• Basic computer systems.
• Basic knowledge of nursing care terminology and functions.

Responsibilities

• Reports and documents vital signs, bedside care, and observations in the emergency department information system.
• Provides telephone services: answering, directing, paging physicians, and safety codes.
• Notifies ancillary departments of patient service needs in a timely manner.
• Assists RNs and physicians/pas with assessments, examinations, and treatments as directed.
