Qualifications

• EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant required.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification within 6 months of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification – CA preferred.
• CPI certification obtained within first 90 days.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Telephone, typing, and filing skills.
• Basic computer systems.
• Basic knowledge of nursing care terminology and functions.

Responsibilities

• Reports and documents in the emergency department information system, patient care performed such as vital signs and bedside care.
• Provides telephone services, including answering and directing calls, paging physicians, and safety codes.
• Notifies ancillary departments of patient service needs in a timely and appropriate manner.
