Job summary

Altus Community Healthcare in Pearland, TX, seeks an Emergency Room Tech to provide technical support for physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center, assist with patient care, monitor equipment, and manage supplies to ensure efficient, patient-centered operations.

You will assist RNs/MDs with exams, perform phlebotomy and IV starts, run EKGs, transport patients, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain lab and pharmacy area logs and temperature records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years’ experience in an Emergency Room setting or 1-3 years’ experience as an EMT-P (or equivalent).
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Document vital signs and care procedures; perform phlebotomy and IV starts.
• Perform urinalysis and breathalyzer tests after training.
• Assist physicians with physical exams and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
• Perform daily opening and closing duties and inventory stocking.
