Job summary

Altus Emergency seeks an Emergency Room Tech to support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The role includes patient care, phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, specimen collection, and maintaining supplies and equipment for a safe, efficient department.

Responsibilities include assisting with UDS and breathalyzer tests when trained, documenting care, performing Point of Care testing, and ensuring labs, pharmacy, and patient areas stay compliant and well organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ ER experience or EMT-P (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Document vital signs, perform phlebotomy and IV starts, and perform EKGs.
• Transport patients and monitor using cardiac and vital sign monitors.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and wound care; obtain lab specimens and document care.
• Unload supplies into the Emergency Center and maintain clean patient care areas.
• Greet patients on arrival, assist with opening/closing duties and ensure proper documentation.
