Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an ER Technician to assist in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The role emphasizes direct and indirect patient care, following the prescribed care plan, and ensuring smooth patient flow across age groups from infants to the elderly.

The position requires BLS, CPI within 90 days, and credentials such as EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant, or enrollment in an RN program with clinical coursework.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required -OR- RN program with 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care to designated patients under RN/physician supervision.
• Follows plan of care and manages patient needs by age and diagnosis.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care to maintain smooth ED flow.
• Provides emergency care knowledge from infancy through geriatrics.
