Job summary

Mount Carmel New Albany is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide patient care in a fast-paced ED. The role includes responding to patient needs, transporting patients, performing phlebotomy, EKGs, wound care, and assisting with trauma, stroke, and resuscitation protocols.

This part-time position features two 12-hour day shifts weekly, rotating weekends and holidays, with competitive pay and full benefits from day one as described by Mount Carmel.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS, EKG phlebotomy and basic patient care skills training preferred.
• Experience: Previous patient care experience or health-related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs promptly and professionally.
• Transports and escorts patients as needed.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKG, eye irrigation, and wound care per protocol.
• Collects specimens and documents vital signs and procedures.
• Reports observations to RN/physician and participates in trauma/stroke/sepsis protocols.
