Job summary

Mount Carmel is seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Technician to join our team in New Albany, Ohio. This part-time role involves two 12-hour day shifts weekly, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will deliver patient care in a compassionate, team‑oriented environment aligned with our Mission and Guiding Behaviors. You will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, wound care, data collection, and assist in trauma and resuscitation as part of the ED team, under supervision of

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalency.
• Licensure / Certification: BLS required; EKG phlebotomy basic care skills.
• Experience: Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Transportation and patient escort.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Performs EKG and collects patient data such as vital signs.
• Reports observations to RN/physician promptly.
• Participates in trauma, stroke, heart, sepsis alerts and resuscitation.
• Performs wound care and sterile technique when appropriate.
• Foley care and specimen collection.
• Suture and staple removal as applicable.
