Job summary

Mount Carmel New Albany, part of Trinity Health, is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for two 12-hour night shifts weekly (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends/holidays. The role focuses on compassionate patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

Responsibilities include patient support, phlebotomy, EKGs, wound care, sterile technique, and timely communication of patient status to RNs and physicians. Requires HS diploma and BLS; prior patient care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of basic patient care skills course and EKG phlebotomy.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Transportation and patient escort.
• Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens as ordered.
• Conduct EKGs and assist with trauma, stroke, heart and sepsis alerts.
• Wound care, sterile technique, and suture/staple removal (excluding face).
• Collect and document patient data and report changes to RN/physician.
