Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in New Albany, OH seeks an Emergency Department Technician to work three 12-hour day shifts per week from 7am–7:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role includes responding to patient needs, phlebotomy, wound care, EKG, and supporting trauma resuscitation as part of a collaborative ED team. Education to meet BLS and EKG/phlebotomy requirements is needed; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• Successful completion of courses including basic patient care skills, EKG phlebotomy, and BLS.
• Previous patient care experience and/or technical health field education preferred.
• Effective communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Transport and escort patients as needed.
• Perform visual acuity, eye irrigations and equipment setups.
• Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens per orders.
• Follow protocols and assist in trauma, stroke, heart and sepsis alerts, and resuscitation.
