Job summary

Advocate Health in Park Ridge, IL seeks a Part-Time ED Technician for the Adult Emergency Department. You will assist physicians and nurses with patient care, phlebotomy, transport, monitor setup, wound care, and specimen collection, while documenting observations and communicating needs promptly.

Shift is 7p–7a, 24 hours per week. You’ll support team communications, maintain safety and cleanliness, monitor equipment, and help with patient positioning.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to work with EHR.
• Excellent interpersonal skills communicating with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Must maintain required hospital certifications and recertifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and RNs with phlebotomy, transport, monitors, wound care, and specimen collection.
• Documents information and communicates observations and needs to the RN.
• Processes daily patient charges and/or procedures through the EHR.
• Collaborates with physicians to facilitate patient care; coordinates communications (phone, verbal, paging, electronic, fax, EMS).
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment following safety policies.
• Monitors equipment and arranges repairs when needed.
• Performs patient positioning and transport duties with proper lifting techniques.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and adheres to department standards.
