Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Downers Grove is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nursing and physicians in patient care. You will perform bedside monitoring, phlebotomy, and assist with invasive procedures, while maintaining equipment and ED cleanliness.

The role requires CPR certification, the ability to lift and move patients, and documentation of all interventions in the EMR. You may also assist with clerical tasks and patient rounds to ensure timely care.

Qualifications

• 2-3 yrs of hospital patient care or pre-hospital patient care experience or nursing rotations or CNA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to use keyboard and see computer screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Assist with invasive procedures and equipment setup.
• Document all interventions in the EMR.
• Maintain cleanliness of ED areas and equipment.
• Transport patients and supplies between departments.
• Assist with patient rounds and service recovery as needed.
• Expand flexibility to clerical tasks when required.
