Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and physicians in the Adult ED. You will assist with phlebotomy, patient transport, monitoring, wound care, and lab specimen collection, while documenting procedures and communicating needs through the EHR.

The role requires basic computer/EHR skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced hospital setting. Part-time night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and ability to work with EHR systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Maintain required certifications and stay up-to-date.
• Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and RNs in patient care including phlebotomy, wound care, and monitoring.
• Document procedures and communicate observations to the RN.
• Process daily patient charges through the EHR.
• Coordinate communications (phone, paging, electronic, fax, EMS).
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following safety policies.
