Job summary

Memorial Health is seeking a security professional to protect the Emergency Department, staff, patients, and visitors on site. The role involves responding to emergencies, patrolling areas, and following established safety protocols to ensure a safe hospital environment.

The position requires completion of a police academy program (400+ hours) and active licensing for armed security. Off-duty work with local agencies must be approved; strong de-escalation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a certified police academy (PTI or Equivalent) with 400+ hours.
• Must maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing for armed security work.
• Proof of off duty work approved by supervising agency is required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to unusual or emergency situations in PAH with escalation of force as per protocol.
• Observe and report activities to PAH Security dispatch and local police as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of the Emergency Department and waiting areas for safety and access control.
• Maintain logs and records; complete annual computer-based learning (CBL).
• Assist in de-escalation and ensure visitor badges limit entry as directed.
