Job summary

FMOL Health in Lafayette, LA seeks an experienced security professional to serve as an Emergency First Responder. This role greets visitors, escorts guests, and patrols the hospital to maintain safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

You will address conflicts, coordinate with law enforcement, investigate incidents, and enforce hospital security policies. Certification and a firearms qualification are required to ensure preparedness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security or law enforcement experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• LA POST firearms qualification and PRA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests and provide information to assist them in getting to their designation.
• Manage wheelchair distribution and provide security escorts for guests and employees.
• Patrol premises to ensure security of patients, visitors, and staff.
• Proactively address and deescalate tense situations and/or conflict.
• Respond to requests for security assistance and work with local law enforcement as needed.
• Respond to all hospital emergency codes, excluding medical codes.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Enforce hospital security policies and procedures.
• Serve as the hospital’s Emergency First Responders.
• Carry a registered firearm for protection and prevention of conflict.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
