Job summary

Jefferson Regional Med Ctr in Pine Bluff, AR seeks an Emergency Department Security Officer (as needed). Responsibilities include safeguarding patients, visitors and staff, responding to emergencies, and enforcing hospital policies within the ED.

The role requires experience in law enforcement, CPR/BLS, and firearm certification. Ideal candidates hold police certification, be physically capable, and able to de-escalate conflicts under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or Associate Degree in law enforcement, social science, physiology, or related fields preferred.
• BLS/CPR required on hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Police Officer with valid certification required.
• Firearm Certification required.
• Safety sensitive position with strict attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and manage conflicts in stressful situations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Knowledge of safety laws and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of patients, visitors and staff in the ED.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain order in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Enforce hospital policies and procedures.
• Deescalate tense situations and manage conflicts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, local law enforcement and emergency services to maintain a secure ED environment.
