Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an Armed Security Officer to patrol hospital facilities, deter crime, and respond to emergencies across multiple shifts. You will produce written incident reports, assist nursing staff, and enforce campus security rules while maintaining patient and staff safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 2+ years of armed security or related healthcare experience, plus credentials such as de‑escalation training and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years of armed security experience (may substituted by Honorable Military Service) preferred.
• Law enforcement experience preferred.
• Healthcare security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent security patrols of facilities and grounds.
• Identify and report trends related to security issues and recommend actions.
• Take initial information for incident reports and submit timely reports.
• Respond to service requests courteously and expeditiously.
• Enforce CHRISTUS Health policies and laws of the state.
• Assist with handling combative patients or visitors.
• Operate security systems including CCTV and paging tools.
• Maintain safe environment by reporting hazards observed during rounds.
