Job summary

Blessing Health System seeks an Emergency Department Security Officer to patrol parking and hospital areas, protect assets and respond to security issues. The role requires coordination with local law enforcement and ED staff, including daily huddles for ED security personnel.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma and must obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of hire. CPR/BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of hire.
• Functions quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Attend daily Emergency Department huddles (Emergency Department officers only).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to work well as a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff by patrolling parking areas and protecting assets.
• Respond to all security issues and maintain communications with ED staff and local law enforcement.
• Escort incarcerated patients and assist law enforcement as needed to hospital areas.
• Attend daily ED huddles as required for ED security personnel.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to support patient safety and hospital policy.
