Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with medical providers and the care team to advocate for patients and uphold standards of practice.

Responsibilities include pain management, timely documentation, patient/family education, and proactive support for care transitions. Strong communication and collaboration are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ENPC must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or similar must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with timely reassessments.
• Document the administration of care in the electronic medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to deliver exceptional care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps.
• Guide patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures like diet, exercise and disease prevention.
