Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City Dallas is seeking a skilled RN for the Emergency Room to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, and respond promptly to patient needs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The role emphasizes patient education, discharge planning, and guiding families on post-treatment care and lifestyle changes.

Qualifications

• PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date (RN)
• Registered Nurse Associate Degree Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 1 year of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and provides exceptional care.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up measures.
• Translates medical terminology to ensure understanding and safe self-management.
