Job summary

Backus Hospital Emergency Department in Connecticut is seeking an experienced ED RN to join a 42-bed unit in a fast-paced, trauma-capable setting. The RN will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care from admission through discharge.

Requirements include BSN preferred, 1 year RN experience or nurse residency, BLS; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/CPI within 90 days; CT RN license in good standing; ability to obtain moderate sedation within 9 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program required.
• BLS required. Ability to obtain and maintain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced ED with a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Utilize EPIC EMR and maintain clinical standards in alignment with hospital policies.
