Job summary

Backus Hospital's Emergency Department in Plainfield, CT, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a 12-bed unit within a vibrant, interdisciplinary team. You will deliver patient-centered care under the Nurse Manager, applying evidence-based practices and nursing process to plan and implement care.

The role requires critical care experience, active BLS, and certification readiness (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CPI) within 90 days of hire. A Connecticut RN license is mandatory; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year critical care RN experience required.
• BLS required. ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted License in CT to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Certified Emergency Nurse or Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care under the Nurse Manager in a collaborative team.
• Utilize nursing process to develop and implement a plan of care.
• Address physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
• Work with interdisciplinary staff to ensure high-quality care and safety.
