Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Sunnyside Medical Center Emergency Department in Oregon. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessment, care planning, implementation of treatment per physician orders, and discharge planning in collaboration with the health care team.

Requires ED experience, RN licensure in Oregon, and BLS at hire; ACE and NICHE courses are preferred. Work schedule is 36 hours weekly, evenings, onsite at Sunnyside Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
• One (1) year of current ED experience or completion of Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship in the ED.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: performs accurate multi-system assessments and discharge planning needs.
• Planning: develops an individual nursing plan of care and coordinates with departments.
• Implementation: initiates measures per protocol and documents in EMR.
• Evaluation: evaluates assessments and plans and participates in unit quality assurance.
