Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking an RN to provide comprehensive nursing care across obstetrics, pediatrics, medical and surgical services, including emergency and nursery care. The role requires independent decision-making, adherence to the nursing process, and collaboration with unit management.

The successful candidate will maintain current Minnesota RN licensure, have ED experience, and complete required certifications (BLS, ACLS; PALS within 6 months; NRP within 1 year).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota.
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check as required by Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Provides obstetrics, pediatrics, medical, surgical, emergency and other inpatient/outpatient care.Operates under State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Maintains supervision of LPNs and Health Unit Coordinators as needed.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate patient care.
• Initiates and updates patient care plans with computerized documentation.
• Demonstrates initiative, good judgment and safety awareness.
• Willing to work extra shifts and train new staff.
• Attends annual skills fair and uses PPE appropriately.
• Reports accidents or safety hazards promptly and maintains documentation.
• Supports patient advocacy and accurate information flow to resources.
