Job summary

Backus Hospital in Plainfield, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will provide patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and a standardized nursing process to develop and execute a care plan.

The role requires critical care experience, BSN preferred, and current CT nursing license; BLS is mandatory with ACLS/TNCC/PALS/CPI within 90 days of hire; sedation administration training within 9 months.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; 1 year critical care RN experience required.
• BLS required. Ability to obtain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with interprofessional teams.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Follow state practice act, hospital policies, and medical staff directions.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
