Job summary

McDonough District Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to ensure accurate collection of registration, admission, and discharge data for patients arriving in the Emergency and Registration Departments. The patient access specialist will also provide general clerical support and receptionist duties to the Emergency and/or Registration Department.

All duties are performed within the framework of established operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Typing at least 35 wpm is required.
• Ability to communicate with staff, patients, and the public with tact and diplomacy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures and exercise critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Arrange for efficient and accurate collection of registration, admission, and discharge data for Emergency/Registration patients.
• Provide general clerical support and receptionist duties.
• Collaborate with department staff to ensure smooth operational processes.
