Job summary

GW Hospital in Washington, DC, an acute teaching facility, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its 62-bed Emergency Department, a 24/7 Level I Trauma Center renowned for rapid response and high-quality patient care.

You will work with board-certified physicians and urgent care specialists, delivering critical care, procedural support, and family education in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BSN or currently enrolled and DC RN license or eligibility.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work under pressure in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic ED setting.
• Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, implement care across conditions.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, monitor responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and prevention.
• Participate in quality improvement and research opportunities.
