Medical City Dallas is seeking an RN for Emergency Room (Garland FSER) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team. You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, respond to requests, and educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to standards, and supporting the organization’s mission to improve patient outcomes in a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ENPC must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives Managing Aggression must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
