Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Garland FSER. You’ll coordinate high-quality patient-centered care with physicians and the care team, using established nursing models to assess, perform, teach, and manage care.

You will advocate for patients and families, contribute to excellent outcomes, and participate in continuous improvement across the department, while maintaining documentation and timely communication.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN - Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives ... within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; document care timely.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve issues.
• Educate patients/families/caregivers about condition, status, plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terms.
• Teach non-medical follow-up measures like diet and exercise; prepare for future self-management.
