Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a full-time Registration Clerk for the Grand Rapids Emergency Department. You will greet patients, collect demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance data, and enter it into the patient accounting system.

Responsibilities include processing physician orders, verifying insurance eligibility, notifying patients of liabilities, and referring cases to financial counseling when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Data entry skills 50–60 keystrokes per minute.
• 1 year of healthcare provider or payer experience preferred.
• Proficient with multiple software systems; strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information for service delivery.
• Enter patient data into the patient accounting system; obtain signatures and file documents.
• Process signed physician orders; perform insurance eligibility verification; notify patients of liabilities.
• Refer appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up.
• Provide escort and directional support to patients, families, and visitors; enhance patient experience.
