Job summary

Hirecruiting is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Washington, DC, onsite for a 13-week contract with rotating weekends and holidays. Typical shifts are 3PM–11:30PM or 6PM–2:30AM.

You will register patients at the Emergency Department, collect copays, verify insurance, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced hospital setting. Requirements include at least two years of patient access/registration experience and a high school diploma or GED; familiarity with HIPAA and hospital

Qualifications

• Two years of direct Patient Access/Patient Registration experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with insurance eligibility verification and patient payments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients arriving at the Emergency Department with accurate demographic and insurance data.
• Complete electronic patient registration in person or by phone; bedside registration when applicable.
• Collect copayments and verify/record patient balances; follow cash handling procedures.
• Verify insurance eligibility and identify coverage discrepancies; escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate records across registration and billing systems; ensure HIPAA compliance.
