Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Patient Access Services Representative to be the first point of contact for patients. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and assist with registration and financial counseling in a high-volume hospital setting.

You’ll work across emergency, inpatient, obstetrics, and outpatient services, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring compliant documentation and accurate eligibility checks. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient access, financial services, or insurance processes preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with common office software and typing ability.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire; background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographics and input into EHR accurately to maximize reimbursement.
• Assist with inpatient, ER, obstetrics, and outpatient access as needed; cover 24/7 shifts.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; generate patient estimates and conduct financial counseling.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families; provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure documentation compliance and accurate posting of deposits and payments.
