Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record to form the foundation of the patient medical record and prevent duplicates.
• Check in/register patients; verify demographics, guarantor, and insurance information; collect co-pays and out-of-pocket amounts.
• Explain insurance coverage and refer patients to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA and other regulatory requirements; obtain signatures as required.
• Schedule patient appointments; provide test prep, arrival times, instructions, and directions to the facility.
• Deliver welcoming, professional service; greet patients and assist with transportation, interpreters, and other needs.
• Monitor and manage electronic health record work queues per department process.
