Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a paramedic for the Emergency Department to provide rapid, high-quality patient care during 7p–7a shifts. You will work in a busy ED, applying advanced life support, documenting in the EMR, and collaborating closely with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications include paramedic certification and a minimum of three years EMS experience, with BCLS and EMT-P licensure. ACLS/PALS may be required; strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. in paramedic studies.
• Three years of Emergency Service experience preferred.
• BCLS and state OEMS EMT-P certification required.
• ACLS or PALS may be required within one year in select areas.
• Critical care certificate or national registry paramedic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs.
• Rapid evaluation of life-threatening emergencies and implementation of prescribed therapies.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to establish treatment goals.
• Maintain privacy and professional behavior; ensure safe, healing environment.
• Document medications and treatments in the Electronic Medical Record; reassess patients as needed.
