Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department Technician/Paramedic to deliver patient care in a fast-paced ED. You will work 7p–7a with an every third weekend rotation, under RN/Physician direction, performing monitoring, treatments, data collection, and essential procedures.

Role involves IV starts, ECGs, wound care, OB/GYN assistance, and code response. Requires EMT license (P or B with experience) and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current EMT P license or EMT B within at least one year relative experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CERT Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• The Paramedic functions under the direction of the Emergency Nurse and Physician and reports clinical findings to the RN/Physician.
• Administers treatments and various procedures within scope of practice and supports patient safety.
• Monitors vital signs, collects data, starts IVs, and assists with OB/GYN care and code situations.
• Obtains ECGs, phlebotomy tasks, wound care, and orthopedic care as directed.
