Job summary

St. Davids North Austin Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to join a leading health system in Austin, Texas.

The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, utilizing established nursing models to assess, perform, teach, and manage care while supporting exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN required with ED experience.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes.
• TNCC or equivalent pediatric trauma certification encouraged.
• Pediatric emergency experience preferred.
• ED experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the provider and documents care.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, treatment, medications and follow-up care.
• Translates medical terminology to ensure patient understanding and self-management.
