Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department.

You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, using established nursing models to drive outcomes. You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, and educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up steps.

Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse must be held.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• TNCC/Trauma Nursing Core Course instructor must be obtained within 1 year.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1 year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team.
• Assess patient pain regularly and manage pain interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-management.
