Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced setting.

The RN coordinates care with providers and the care team, using established nursing models to educate patients and families, manage pain, and ensure accurate documentation and communication. Collaboration with hospital councils and nursing initiatives is encouraged.

Qualifications

• RN with current license
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour within 1 year of start date
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of start date
• BCLS Instructor or ACLS/TNCC related certification within stated timelines
• Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in ED.
• Assess pain and manage pain relief with regular reassessments.
• Perform procedures and document care in medical records.
• Educate patients/families about condition, treatment plan, and follow-up.
• Advocate for patients and support team-based care.
