St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency department to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Documents the administration of care and performs procedures as ordered.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients/families about condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects.
• Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
