St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative care team.

You will coordinate care with providers, perform urgent assessments, and support families through treatment and discharge planning. The role requires relevant certifications and ongoing education to uphold safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 1 year of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of employment start date.
• RN license (RN) is required.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• ACLS certification/instructor within 90 days of employment start date.
• TNCC/TNCC Instructor within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and document in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepare patients for self-management.
