Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's North Valleys ER is seeking a dedicated ER Registered Nurse for a part-time role (24 hours/week). The ED operates 24/7 with fast-track rooms and a broad range of acuity levels, and provides comprehensive imaging and lab services to support patient care.

The ideal candidate will hold a NV RN license with 2–3 years in ED or critical care, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS and EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.

Education

Current NV RN License
