Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's North Valleys ER is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team on a part-time basis (24 hours/week). The department operates 24/7 with triage, imaging, and lab services, and supports fast-track care for low-severity patients.

The ideal candidate will have an NV RN license, 2–3 years in ED or critical care, EMS experience, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
