Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's North Valleys ER, part of the NNMC network, is a 24/7 emergency department serving a wide age range with fast-track rooms, imaging and outpatient labs. The RN will provide skilled nursing care in a busy ED, coordinating with physicians to manage patient flow and priorities.

This role requires NV RN licensure, 2–3 years in ED/CC, EMS experience, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License is required.
• 2–3 years of ED or critical care experience preferred.
• Extensive EMS background experience is desirable.
• Current BLS Certification is required.
• ACLS Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PALS Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and conducts reassessments per policy.
• Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care and accurately assigns triage categories.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets results; manages pain and educates patients and families.
