Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Staff Nurse – Emergency Services for the In House Registry Nights. You will assess, plan, and coordinate care for acutely ill patients in a fast-paced ED, collaborating with physicians, families and the care team.

Required: BSN, current Illinois RN license, BLS; ACLS/PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year; strong interpersonal, collaboration and analytic skills. We offer tuition reimbursement, loan forgiveness, 401(k) matching and lifecycle benefits.

Qualifications

• BSN and Illinois RN license required with BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year of hire preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration and analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops care plans and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and utilizes any nursing assistants appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plans and decisions.
• Participates in governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the care plan based on findings.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
