Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient for the Emergency Department in Illinois. You will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and work with a supportive team dedicated to excellence for patients and families.

The role requires a BSN, active Illinois RN license, BLS, and strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Shift is days 9:00 am–9:30 pm with every-other weekend and on-call commitments.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities and critical thinking are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and plans individualized care.
• Directs care and coordinates with any assistants.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and staff; documents plans focused on outcomes.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
