Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse Inpatient to contribute to high-quality patient care in our Illinois hospital. The role requires coordination of nursing care for acutely ill patients using the nursing process, with emphasis on assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, an active Illinois RN license, and BLS; strong teamwork, communication, and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN required or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Strong analytic abilities

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, plans and coordinates care for acutely ill patients
• Directs care and utilizes assistants when appropriate
• Collaborates with patients, families and health team members to create an outcome-focused plan
• Participates in governance, committees and unit projects
• Documents patient responses and adjusts care plan based on evaluation
• Uses evidence to guide nursing practice decisions
