Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The role combines direct patient care with managerial responsibilities in a busy acute care setting, including collaborating with physicians, the Nurse Manager, and other staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements include 2 years of ED experience, active RN license in Nevada, BCLS, ACLS within 6 months, PALS within 6 months, ENPC/TNCC optional.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
