Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is hiring an Emergency Dept Registered Nurse. The position is full-time with full benefits and a flexible schedule. Requires 2 years ED experience and an active RN license in the state.

A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered. You will provide direct patient care, participate in hiring, and collaborate with physicians and staff to respond quickly to changes in patient condition. We value compassion, teamwork, and quality care.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS Certification within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
